The Winning Contestant – Jenna Glazier

Jenna Glazier is a 24-year-old college student currently studying business. This year, she made it a goal to finally prioritize herself, learn, grow, and be better than the challenges she’s been put through the last few years. She never could have gotten to this point without the love and support of her family and fiancé, which is why she would love to “take a day off” with them! She believes we should all take initiative to bless the people who were there for us from the beginning.

The Winner’s Submission

Tell us why you deserve a day off.

I think everyone deserves a day off, but if it were me, I’d say a day off would be nice because I have been struggling a bit with balancing school, work, and life in general. I had a few bad years of being depressed and unmotivated after high school until finally, I got the courage to go to college this year for Business. I decided I wanted more for myself, and that it was up to me to go after my goals. In life, people can encourage you but can’t force you to care about your future. Sometimes I find myself barely being able to make rent, and having to constantly cut costs in certain areas to get by. This isn’t how I want to continue living permanently, so I’m hoping to get this degree and find a job as a marketing manager or something similar. I work full-time at a warehouse, and sometimes it’s just a lot to balance with doing school assignments and still trying to see family and make time for them.

Summary

Could you use some time off? A day to spend doing what you want away from work and responsibility? Of course, you could. Do you want to get paid for it? Of course, you do.

As we take the first few steps into 2023, the team at Shane Co. knows there are some early-year events, like the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day, you could use a day off from work for. That’s why we’re sponsoring a contest where you could win $1,000 just for playing hooky for a day (that’s $125/hr. for the day if you need some extra convincing).

The day after the Super Bowl, or “Super Sick Monday” as it’s been dubbed, is one of the most called-out days of the year. Unfortunately, most people who call in sick that day probably aren’t getting paid for it. What better way to kick off (pun intended) the new year than getting paid to play some hooky? All you’ll have to do is tell us why you should be selected by filling out our form below and, once you win, take the day off on us!

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate for this contest would be someone who needs a day off and could really benefit from playing hooky. Which, honestly, is all of us.

The contest is open to everyone. Those in the workforce, stay-at-home parents, students, it doesn’t matter. If you could benefit from a day of playing hooky, we want to hear from you! While not a requirement to enter, we would prefer to know how you’d spend your day off with your partner.

Applicants to the contest must be 18 years old or older and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to be eligible.

How to Enter

To enter the contest, contestants MUST FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW to the entry form, where you’ll be asked why you are the person we should pay to play hooky for a day.

If you’ve been quickly burning through your PTO this year, are already feeling burned out from 2023, or just need to take a day off for yourself, tell us about it! Convince us as to why you’re the right person for this contest. Make sure to completely fill out all the required fields, like your name and email, so that we can notify the winner once one has been selected.

Any contestants who do not complete the entry form by following the below link will not have an official entry into the contest.

The deadline for contest entries is February 17, 2023. Contestants will need to submit their applications by that date to be considered. After this date, no further entries to the contest will be permitted.

What You’ll Get

The winner will be announced on March 6th, 2023, and will receive a $1,000 payment to enjoy their day off of work!

Contest Terms and Conditions

The rules of the competition and the prize for the winner are as follows:

The promoter of this competition is Shane Co. whose principal office is located at 2203 Uravan Street, Aurora, CO 80011.
Employees of Shane Co., their family members, or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
Persons must be at least 18 years old, or otherwise have reached the age of majority under the laws of the state where they reside, in order to participate.
Only residents of the United States are eligible to participate.

There is NO ENTRY FEE AND NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER THIS COMPETITION. Any purchase or consideration otherwise given by entrants will not improve one’s chances of winning.
The route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are available via https://www.shaneco.com. Individuals may enter to win by completely filling out the form on Shane Co.’s website. Upon clicking the participation link, entrants will be asked to provide their name and contact information so that Shane Co. can notify the winner of the results.
The closing date for entry will be February 17, 2023. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
Only one winner will be selected from the entire pool of eligible entries. The selection process will be at the discretion of Shane Co.
The winner will be notified by email and/or letter within 15 business days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 2 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
Shane Co. will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.
The winner agrees to the use of his/her name, image, and video in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current federal and state data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
The winner’s name will be available 28 days after the closing date by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the following address:

Shane Co.’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
